Position Summary
Responsible for providing the leadership, direction, and resources necessary to manage Maintenance functions safely and effectively. The position is responsible for oversight of the Maintenance Technician positions and ensuring that reactive work is managed in accordance with planned/scheduled maintenance activities. Promotes close cooperation among the Maintenance Planner, Engineering, Production Supervisors, and outside contractors. In the performance of these functions, the Maintenance Supervisor cooperates closely with the Maintenance Coordinator, Production Supervisors, accounting personnel, and others as needed. The incumbent must have three to five years of experience as a maintenance technician or planner and five to seven years of experience in either Mechanical or E&I Maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The level of technical sophistication at a modern plant is such that at least an associate degree or its equivalent in either mechanical or electrical engineering is necessary or relevant training and experience. A bachelor’s degree in either mechanical or electrical or electronic engineering is desirable. Technically the entire maintenance group supports the incumbent. This position is predominantly concerned with achieving results through people.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works in a manufacturing plant environment with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with working in a high traffic, heavy machinery, manufacturing plant. Typical work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 AM – 4:30 PM (may vary by area in department). This position requires overtime. Work hours may change at the Management’s.
