We are looking for an Assistant Planner in our DeKalb, IL location.

Here are some details about this position:

Effectively assist planners to monitor, and coordinate production activities to satisfy customer demand.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review material for shop orders to maintain inventory accuracy-communicate needs and concerns to purchasing/planners based on current schedule.

• Maintain / monitor information from Planners / Master Scheduler to release work orders and dispatch reports to the shop floor in time to meet customer demand.

• Maintain a daily production schedule for the floor based on priorities and due dates.

• Develop a working knowledge of the company’s products and processes to ensure optimal production schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load-leveling, etc.

• Expedite or remove orders as necessary based on information from production schedules/Planners/Master Scheduler

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• BS Degree preferred or equivalent education/experience

• Familiar with current technology concepts, practices, and procedures

• Three years manufacturing experience

• Experience with ERP systems BAAN preferred

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and MRP systems.
