Position Summary

Plans and schedules maintenance programs and processes to complete proactive maintenance work for the plant to minimize impact on production. This role evaluates the need for replacement parts, labor, and cost estimates for work to be performed on plant assets. Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures including but not limited to project management, RCM, PdM, and precision maintenance techniques. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and coordinates resources. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May lead and direct the work of others. This position will coordinate the activities of all plant maintenance MRO inventory management programs and processes. Incumbent works to evaluate the need for replacement parts. Supports plants in MRO accuracy within CMMS, Asset Bill of Materials, Warranty management and recovery, supports vendor development, and material traceability. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and coordinates resources. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •   Manages work order tracking and lifecycle within company CMMS.
  •   Plans and schedules weekly maintenance activities.
  •   Manages MRO inventory stock.
  •   Coordinates contractor support for planned maintenance activities
  •   Builds job kits with appropriate job plans, technical data, parts and work instructions for planned        maintenance activities.
  •   Must be able to effectively work independently, be well organized, and detail oriented.
  •   Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner.
  •   Must have mechanical ability to provide maintenance support.
  •   Must have knowledge of SDS and GHS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing
  • 5-7 years' experience in technical role within a manufacturing maintenance environment

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  •  Ability to read, write, speak and interpret documents including blue prints, workorders, technical documents in English

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole, fractional, and decimal numbers.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Works to solve purchasing issues.
  • Ability to make decisions and know when to move to next level.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Intermediate MS office.  Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems configuration and asset management

Light work – Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects.  Sedentary work and the worker sits for extended periods of times on occasion.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works in a manufacturing plant environment with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with working in a high traffic, heavy machinery, manufacturing plant. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM (may vary by area in department). Job requires overtime. Work hours may change at Management's discretion.
