POSITION SUMMARY:

As a team leader you will be engaged in the custom manufacturing of engineered storage tanks and accessories. You will direct the day-to-day activities of the 2nd Shift Paint Line, and report to the Plant Superintendent. You will interface with other functions such as Quality, HR, Engineering, Safety, and Shipping. This challenging position places high emphasis on safety, effective teamwork, clear communication, continuous improvement, sound judgement, efficiency, and quality.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain a safe work environment that is compliant with CST Safety Policies and OSHA standards.

· Lead a team, mentor, and motivate team members.

· Act as a communication hub for the team, disseminating pertinent and timely information.

· Also, responsible for communication with other leaders including shift to shift communication.

· Schedule production functions as well as special production needs and repairs.

· Work with the system to monitor production flow using data indicators to schedule workload to meet CST’s targeted goals.

· Maintain and boost efficiencies, initiate and implement continuous improvement projects, train team members, and work with other departments to implement new processes.

· Assist in performing hands on production and assembly.

· Assume responsibility for the quality of the parts as a participant in administering the company’s quality management system.

· Complete and deliver performance reviews, commendations, disciplinary actions, and PIP’s.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· 1-3 years’ experience as a hands-on leader.

· Proven leadership verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good Time management with scheduling and prioritization skills.

· Experience in regulated manufacturing environment.

· Strong problem skills.

· Knowledge of lean practices and principles.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Ability to read and interpret CST and customer prints and documents.

· Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.

 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

· Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

· Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

· Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.

· Ability to make effective decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining extremely high-quality standards.

· Ability to travel to job sites or other facilities if needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Ability to lift-up to 55 lbs.

· Ability to obtain a forklift license.

· Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

· Required to walk; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk or hear.
