Description

Position Summary

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s server infrastructure, network systems, and related technologies across all locations, including cloud environments. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance while providing technical support and exceptional service to internal users. Responsibilities include system monitoring, backups, patching, disaster recovery planning, and documentation of procedures.

 

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for system upgrades and application lifecycle management.
  • Establish and maintain IT policies and procedures.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage system backups, snapshots, and patching.
  • Monitor and maintain security across endpoints, servers, networks, and email systems.
  • Respond to Help Desk tickets and support end-user devices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on application deployments and system impacts.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and assist with procurement.
  • Onboard new employees with standardized IT setups.
  • Lead and support IT projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of systems and processes.
  • Other projects assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience supporting Windows systems and internal users.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+ or MCSE are preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
 

Technical Proficiency:

  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • VMware vSphere/vCenter
  • Network and security tools (IDS/IPS, VPN, SIEM, VLANs)
  • Office 365 and PowerShell
  • SQL Server, IIS, Cisco Meraki, SD-WAN (preferred)

 

Physical & Work Environment

  • Primarily sedentary with occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Office and manufacturing plant settings with moderate exposure to noise and machinery.
  • Standard work hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with potential for overtime.
