Position Summary

This position is responsible for carrying out preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial

machinery, to improve up-time and improve efficiencies, special projects to enhance safety, quality, and

continuous improvement initiatives that support company goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow directives of Maintenance Supervisor regarding daily tasks and long-term projects
  • Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical aptitude to repair a variety of hydraulic metal stamping presses.
  • Address underlying root cause of equipment defects to restore equipment functionality.
  • Document and track all work, labor and parts usage through CMMS system.
  • Connect and access PLC program software and effectively troubleshoot various issues.
  • Adhere to and assist Operators, Technicians, Management and Engineering in following PM schedules.
  • Read, interpret and follow basic, intermediate and complex blueprints and schematics.
  • Install new machinery or move reallocated machines to new production lines by disassembly and rebuild.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ Years of Working Knowledge with Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical and Hydraulic systems or components.
  • 5+ Years of experience in maintenance role, millwright, electrical or instrumentation/controls trade in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting various Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic systems.
  • Previous experience utilizing CMMS system to track maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and within a team.
  • Currently enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance or a related field

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years vocational or trade school certificate in Mechanical or Electrical program
  • OSHA 10-hour certification

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to follow written instructions, i.e., preventative maintenance schedules, procedures, etc.
  • Read blueprints, work orders and other technical specifications and documents.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Intermediate Shop math required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Basic computer skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works in a manufacturing plant environment with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with working in a high traffic, heavy machinery, manufacturing plant. Typical work hours are 4:00 PM to 2:30 am (may vary by area in department). Job requires overtime. Work hours may change at the Management’s discretion with prior notice.
