Will be responsible for assisting the HR department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answers incoming calls, screens and transfers to appropriate person and greets visitors.
Keeps all phone lists up to date.
Prints access list daily for both shifts.
Keeps emergency evacuation list up to date.
Inputs information from hand written timesheets into BAAN.
Tracks hours worked on spreadsheet.
Tracks temporary employee hours worked and faxes weekly to temp agencies.
Tracks employee Time off Requests. Updates calendars and spreadsheets.
Handles steel toe boot reimbursement and prescription safety glass program and tracking.
Coordinates the use of temporary employees.
Handles pre-employment paperwork to fill entry level and hourly job openings.
Administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
Conducts new employee and visitor safety orientation.
Tracks and assigns access cards for facility.
Tracks and files safety training records.
Tracks and updates employee point system. Writes attendance disciplinary action for Supervisors.
Assists HR Director and HR Administrator with various research projects and/or special projects.
Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR Administrator.
Files Human Resources department documents weekly as requested by HR Director or HR Administrator.
Assists in coordinating employee events.
Coordinates catering for luncheons/ meetings, etc.
Assists with plant safety effort.
Assists with payroll.
Back up for HR Administrator duties.
General office duties.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Other duties may be assigned as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree preferred.
One to two years’ experience as Administrative Assistant in HR preferred.
The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
PHR preferred
