Description
We are looking for an VP of CST Business Systems for CST Industries. This position has high visibility with the leadership team and reports directly to the CEO.   


The VP of CST Business System is a key leadership role within the organization.  Responsible for the strategic enterprise development and deployment of proven LEAN/Kaizen tools, Six Sigma principles, and continuous improvement methods, resulting in measurable and sustained business improvements.  Will strive for operational excellence across all functional areas and processes through collaboration, and team work.  The VP of CST Business System is also accountable for driving accelerated operating and financial performance through innovation and disruptive paradigm shifting strategies and systems implementations.
 

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior organization leaders in driving the strategic direction of CST Industries Business System
  • Collaboratively lead the CST leadership team in the creation of the CST Vision, Business System blueprint, and deployment roadmap
  • Drives a strategic mindset and commitment to continuous improvement across CST Industries (i.e. helps define improvement goals, establishes accountability through SQDC metrics, uses Lean/Six Sigma tools, and techniques to continually improve processes and business results.  Establishes a mindset within CST Industries to document and control processes; promotes safety and housekeeping by using a facilitative leadership style.  Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and development of the global leadership team in CST Industries Business System for the purpose of delivering tangible and measurable improvements of key processes
  • Coach and mentor other managers and leaders in the use of various tools, concepts and practices around the CST Business System, LEAN and other strategic core processes
  • Assist teams in developing a Lean Roadmap to use in the deployment of strategic objectives in each division and value stream
  • Guide the implementation of LEAN processes in accordance with the organization’s LEAN Implementation Plan (Standard Work, 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, Kaizen and Pull Principles).
  • Directly support locations in achieving strategic deployment objectives by conducting on-site workshops, Kaizen events, assessments and providing guidance through the LEAN transformation process
  • Develop and upgrade CST Business System tools, training and program materials
  • Identify and share best practices across the different CST functions and locations
  • Work with leaders as a “thought partner” to define current state situation, assess gaps in process, capabilities, & talent, while assisting in the development of the future state in line with strategic plans
 
Formal Education & Certification

 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering required; advanced degree (MBA, MME) preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
 
Knowledge & Experience
 
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience within industrial manufacturing environment, including 3-5 years of LEAN and continuous improvement leadership
  • Hands-on experience running a factory > $100m (preferred)
  • Demonstrated mastery of a variety of LEAN and Six Sigma tools (value stream mapping, 5S, flow, pull, etc.)
  • Proven track record of leading LEAN initiatives to achieve business results
  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situation from a “general manager’s” point of view
  • Strong ability to use business metrics to drive business results
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement a CST Business System blueprint and roadmap for CST Industries in collaboration with the CST Industries leadership team

  • Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Travel up to 75%
  • Prefer working knowledge of the Danaher Business System, Toyota Production System, LEAN Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma
