ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote quality achievements and performance improvements company-wide through a pro-active and positive approach and belief in Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure Receiving, Work-in-Progress and /or Final Inspections and Audits to specific requirements as required are successfully completed.
  • Collate & analyze and distribute timely and accurate performance data in order to effectively communicate concise, useful and unambiguous reports.
  • Read, interpret and apply company and customer prints in addition to internal and external specifications as the quality criteria during inspections, testings’ and examinations.
  • Interface with others both internal and external to the company and communicate quality challenges in a professional, empathetic and effective manner, including where applicable Customer visits, Customer Quality Concerns, Supplier liaisons, etc.
  • Multi-tasking and effectively coordinating daily workload, assessing priorities with the minimum amount of supervision.
  • Coordinate external testing of materials and product.
  • Maintenance of the Measurement and Test Equipment Calibration Program.
  • Maintain the policies and procedures in accordance with the API Q1 / ISO 9001 guidelines and other Quality Management System standards in conjunction with the Quality Control Director (ISO Management Representative).
  • Locally control the ISO/API Document Control System.
  • Collect, interpret and report monthly performance data generated from all sources.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of local Quality Control activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 year Associates Degree, 4 year Engineering Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years Quality Assurance / Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques including, CNC, forming, welding, assembly, coating, packaging, warehousing and logistics.
  • Must be able to effectively work independently and in teams, be well organized, and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner.
  • Possess a sound knowledge of effective inspection techniques.
  • Must have mechanical ability, an eye for abnormalities, and aptitude for detail.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole, fractional, and decimal numbers.
 
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.
  • Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.
 
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to learn new software as required
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Regularly walk, sit, talk and hear.
  • Regular use of dimensional equipment such as calipers, gages, and measuring equipment.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Noisy
  • Non-Air-conditioned work area
  • Busy forklift traffic zones
  • Fast paced.
Ability and willingness to travel as and when required.
