Position Summary

To procure goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe and accident free work place
• Review requisitions
• Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
• Prepares purchase orders
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Discussed defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
• Expedites delivery of goods to users
• Occasionally inspects material and other items purchased.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training/experience
• Buyer experience preferred
• Willing to travel 15% of time
• Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
• Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment
• High proficiency with computers skills, including email, MS Office.

Work Conditions

• Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.
