Description
We are looking for a Drafter in our Lenexa, KS location. This position will report to the Drafting Supervisor.

Position Summary

Safely create and drive growth by applying and performing efficient and effective drafting expertise to bolted metal tanks and various options. Responsible for creating preliminary drawings in support of booking orders, approval drawings to support order processing, and fabrication drawings to support manufacturing. Constantly improve drafting processes to reduce errors and time throughout the quote, order and manufacturing processes. This is a non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:
  • Safety.
  • Quality.
  • Always deliver work on time but never sacrifice safety and quality to do it.
  • Daily processing of drawings and Bills of Material to support sales, quotes, customer submittals, the approval drawing process, and manufacturing.
  • Apply lean methodologies for improving personal and group throughput. Constantly improve drafting processes to engineering management, IT, and personal improvement projects.
  • Track and improve personal metrics for drafting efficiency and accuracy; reduce errors.

Formal Education & Certification
  • Degree in Computer Aided Design along with related experience.
  • Solid modeling experience required (at least 1 year)
  • AutoCAD experience required (at least 1 year)
  • Drafting automation experience a plus
  • Experience with designing and drafting tanks a plus
  • Up to 10% travel
  • Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
  • Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment
  • High proficiency with computers skills, including email, and MS Office.
