Description
We are looking for an Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift in our Parsons, KS location. This position will report to the Quality Control Director, CST Storage.

The Quality Inspector will perform Quality Control activities to ensure plant compliance with the CST Storage Quality Program and specific customer, ISO & API requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in Receiving Inspection, Work-in-Progress Inspection and /or Final Inspection and Audits to specified requirements.
  • Assist and analyze timely, accurate and adequate inspections data to be able to provide concise, useful and unambiguous reports to internal employees and Customers and their representatives.
  • Create, collate and present to customers as required QC DataPacks as Objective Evidence of satisfactory manufacturing performance
  • Read, interpret and apply company and customer drawings and specifications as the Quality criteria during inspections.
  • Interface with others internal and external to the company and communicate quality problems in a professional and effective manner, including Customer visits to CST and Quality concerns
  • Coordinate daily workload promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in the coordination of external testing of materials and product
  • Assist in the maintenance of the measurement equipment calibration program.
  • Identify the needs for policies and procedures in accordance with the API Q1 / ISO 9001 guidelines and other Quality Management System standards in conjunction with others.
  • Assist in the collation of monthly performance data generated from internal defects and customer complaints through QMS.
  • Communicate requirements & findings to others in the form of leading training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • A good solid Manufacturing / Fabrication background with at least a GED (2 Years Associates Degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years’ experience or a commitment to be trained/coached up to become a Quality Inspector.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques including warehousing, CNC, forming, welding, assembly, coating and logistics and Inspection techniques
  • Must be able to effectively work independently, be well organized, and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to interface with others internal and external to our company in a professional manner.
  • Must have mechanical ability, an eye for abnormalities, and aptitude for detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole, fractional, and decimal numbers.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.
  • Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.
  • Minimum Basic level knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. (intermediary level preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility.
  • Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment, and perform quality inspections that require feeling of the surface.
  • Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing.  Standing on concrete floor and uneven terrain will be required frequently.
  • Climb and balance, must climb stairs and ladders to inspect tanks and perform inspections from an elevated height.
  • Stoop, kneel, and crouch or crawl, must be able to inspect confined areas
  • Talk/Hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information.
  • See, must be able to visually inspect parts to detect and judge acceptable parts.
  • Lift and carry weights of 50 lbs
