Description
We are looking for Systems Administrator in our World Headquarters location in Kansas City, MO.  This position can also be located at any of our other US locations - DeKalb, IL; Conroe, TX; Parsons, KS or Rincon, GA. 

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and support of all servers at CST Industries, including all sites worldwide. This individual will ensure the health and security of all servers and related network software/equipment at all sites and those running in a hosted or Cloud environment.  This will include responsibility for server hardware, operating systems, application software, data storage, security, patches, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities 
  • Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement strategies for maintaining servers and applications to supported versions
  • Participate in setting organizational application strategies
  • Establish policies and procedures for maintaining enterprise servers, applications, and networks
  • Conduct research into current and emerging technologies
 
Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Monitor and maintain performance of servers on a daily basis including after-hours support and monitoring
  • Perform needs assessment, capacity planning, product review and provide procurement advice for systems, tools, hardware, software, and services. Advise management on recommendations
  • Monitor Helpdesk Support System for new tickets, create and update tickets as support is performed
  • Ensure disaster recovery solutions are in place to support business requirements
  • Consults with Technical Support Analyst, Business Systems Analysts, and Application Developers on impact of new applications
  • Routinely collaborate with technology team on technical troubleshooting, problem resolution, unit coverage, and product recommendations
  • Provide support for both local and remote sites
  • Maintain a Knowledge Bank of known issues and recommended solutions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing systems.
  • Maintain security of CST business systems (user accounts, user roles, passwords etc.).
  • Serve as a technical resource for other IT personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in software and other technologies supported by the IT Dept.
  • Lead company technology projects as needed.
  • Attend mandatory training and meetings. Possibly assist in the planning or facilitation of these events.

Essential Skills:
 
Formal Education 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is preferred
     
Preferable Knowledge & Experience
  • 7 to 10 years’ relevant technical experience supporting Windows servers
  • Windows 2003, 2008R2, and 2012R2 administration
  • VMware vSphere / vCenter management and administration
  • Experience with common server/network monitoring tools (e.g. OpManager, Solarwinds)
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
  • Storage provisioning, management, and backup (DAS, iSCSI, SAS)
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, Web Filtering, VPN, Firewalls, SIEM, and VLANs is preferred
  • Experience with SQL server and IIS is a plus
  • Designing and supporting LAN/WANs. SD-WAN experience is a plus
  • Experience managing Exchange and/or Office 365 using PowerShell
  • Familiar with current technology concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Microsoft and/or network certifications are preferred
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus
