We are looking for a Coatings Technician in our DeKalb, IL location.
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for monitoring work processes and products on the glass line to ensure quality, safety and production standards are improved and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining and improving glass line quality
- Maintaining and overseeing quality stds, std work and procedures for all steps in the glass line process.
- Assist Dekalb manufacturing with improving glass line on time delivery.
- Assist Dekalb manufacturing with improving glass line profitability while maintaining or improving quality.
- Conducting/Assisting with glass line testing and sampling for QC and development
- Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment
- Willing to travel 10% of time
- Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
- Technology Degree in Materials or Coatings Science, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Coatings experience a plus
- Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training/experience a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop, lead and function on a team and maintain effective working relationships.
- A strong analytical aptitude.
- High proficiency with computers skills, including email, MS Office
