We are looking for an Applications Developer III in our headquarters in Kansas City, MO.

As part of a service-oriented- IT organization, the Application Developer’s role includes designing, building, and implementing new enterprise applications, integrating with back end systems; migrating legacy applications to the Web; and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s application portfolio.

Responsibilities 
Strategy & Planning

• Participate in setting organizational application development strategy.
• Establish policies and procedures for maintaining enterprise applications.
• Conduct research into current and emerging technologies.

 
Essential Functions and Duties:

• Perform unit and system level testing of CST applications, engaging users as necessary.
• Identify, recommend, and prioritize new features and applications in conjunction with business leaders and department managers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing applications.
• Provide post-implementation production support
• Ensure security of CST applications.
• Serve as a technical resource for other programmers.
• Maintain a high and increasing level of proficiency in software and other technologies supported by the IT Dept.
• Participate in company technology projects as needed.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings. Possibly assist in the planning or facilitation of these events.
• Maintain an accurate record of hours spent on projects.

Formal Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering.
• At least six years of experience developing enterprise applications.
   

Essential Skills: 
Possess skills in three or more of the following:

• Microsoft C#
• VBA
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Developing within Engineering or Drafting (AutoCAD or Inventor)
• Solid and Assembly Modeling 

Preferable Knowledge & Experience

• Experience with integration to other business systems; ERP, CRM, etc.
• Working knowledge of a web CMS preferably WordPress web content management
• Skills in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS
• Proficiency in a variety of Object Oriented programming languages.
• Web service experience - REST / SOA / SOAP
• Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.
• Extensive relational database and operating systems experience with Microsoft SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
• Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus
• Familiar with current technology concepts, practices, and procedures
• Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
