We are looking for a Sr. Maintenance Technician, 1st Shift in our DeKalb, IL location.
 

This position is responsible for carrying out preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery, to improve up-time and improve efficiencies, special projects to enhance safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives that support company goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial equipment

• Work independently and as part of a team.

• Dismantle, repair and troubleshoot mechanical equipment

• Effectively complete work orders.

• Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment.

• Read blueprints and trouble shoot repairs on various pieces of equipment.

• Be proficient welding, torching, and use of a plasma cutter.

• Mechanical ability to repair complex pieces of equipment to original specifications.

• Be able to install new and used equipment.

• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic controls

• Ability to install gas piping, air lines, hydraulic piping and manifolds

• Building maintenance responsibilities

• Documents repair and PM procedures

• Participates in continuous improvement and special projects

• Required to drive a forklift

• Dismantle, repair and troubleshoot mechanical equipment

• Verifying repair work for accuracy.

• Cross training in other areas of the department.

• This job will include other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• H.S. Diploma / GED

• 1 - 2+ yrs. Maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

• 3-5 years’ experience using power tools, measuring tools, platform lifts, boom lift.

• 5+ year’s 480 volt experience in industrial electrical background including installation and repair

• Knowledge of the operation, preventive maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment
