We are looking for an Tool and Die Machinist in our DeKalb, IL location.
 

Position Summary

Programs, processes and repairs material through machining operations to produce a variety of completed parts at the highest level of utilization and productivity attainable.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up operate and maintain machines.

• Machine parts to specifications

• Locate and identify proper material, stage material and tooling for jobs.

• Sharpen punches and dies, repair tool and dies

• Design, blueprint jogs, fixtures, templates

• Keep adequate tooling inventory, inspect parts.

• Assist with sorting and packaging parts, periodic welding of tool and dies.

• General housekeeping

• Other duties defined by supervisor.

   

  QUALIFICATIONS

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma / Specialized training equivalent to the “journeyman” level in skilled trades

• Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices.

• Understands Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Familiar with quality control and inspection procedures

• Demonstrated proficiency in use of all tools and equipment appropriate to job responsibilities.
