Description
We are looking for an Maintenance Manager in our DeKalb, IL location. The position is responsible for managing the performance of maintenance technicians, managing a preventative and predictive maintenance program to increase machine uptime and improve efficiencies, facilities maintenance, and special projects to enhance safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives that support company goals.  Health, safety and environmental compliance will be a priority for the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages maintenance technicians on multiple shifts and directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repairs
  • Manages maintenance budget as allocated
  • Develops and initiates predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Modifies programming of controllers
  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures
  • Completes special project as assigned, including justifying and implementing capital equipment and upgrades
  • Member of Safety Committee responsible for implementing suggestions developed by team and management
  • Create spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
  • Promote continuous improvement concepts and drive change initiatives 
  • Coordinate with other departments
  • Lead TMP events and LEAN training/projects
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals
  • Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve safety, improve quality and efficiency
  • Confers with other supervisors, managers, and employees to coordinate activities
  • Manages all regulatory permits needed in order to run the DeKalb facility.
  • Supervises the repair of all Die repairs and manages the tool and die room.
  • Coordinates and supervises all facility contractor(s) and outsourced maintenance work
  • Must be able to become Class K certified, maintaining working knowledge of the Clarifier operation and facility wastewater process
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant education/experience/training in field
  • 5+ Years in Heavy Industrial Maintenance: (must have strong electrical background)
  • 3+ Years of Supervisory Experience
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
  • Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment
  • High proficiency with computers skills, including email, MS Office
  • Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to safely operate heavy industrial equipment
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent education, experience or training
  • 5+ Years Industrial Maintenance Experience, including knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • 1+ Years managing complex projects
