We are looking for a Director of Coatings Technology in our DeKalb, IL location.

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for overseeing CST Industries coating processes to ensure safety, quality, and production standards are improved and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Porcelain Enameling quality for DeKalb, IL glass line
• Epoxy Powder quality for Parsons, KS EP line
• Liquid spray coating quality for Parsons, KS and Winchester, TN
• Developing standard work/procedures for all steps and personnel in the coating processes.
• Developing and overseeing all quality control procedures and documentation for coating processes
• Assist manufacturing with on time delivery and improving of all coating lines.
• Assist manufacturing with profitability and improving all coatings lines.
• Supervising coating testing and sampling for QC and development

 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry
• 5+ years of Manufacturing experience with operating and improving coating processes
• Porcelain Enameling experience a plus
• NACE certification(s) a plus
• Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training/experience a plus
• Willing to travel 20% of time, mostly to other CST facilities.
• Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
• Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced professional environment
• High proficiency with computers skills, including email, MS Office
• Position preferred to be located in DeKalb, IL, USA but open to Kansas City, Winchester, TN, or Parsons, KS.
