Description
We are looking for Quality Control Manager in our Winchester, TN location.

This person will plan, coordinate and direct quality control activities designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with CST Quality Program, specific customer, ISO and API requirements.  Maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with the Plant Manager to maximize product and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Promote quality achievements and performance improvements facility-side through a pro-active and positive approach and belief in Continuous Improvement
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews though preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • Develop quality control plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventative measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
  • Support K.P.I.’s through daily board reviews, GEMBA walks, weekly plant meetings, focus groups, etc.
  • Read interpret and apply company and customer prints and specifications as the quality criteria during inspections
  • Interface with others internal and external to the company and communicate quality challenges in a professional and effective manner, including customer visits, etc.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborate with management to implement and improve manufacturing and training methods
  • Manage and maintain an efficient and effective Equipment Calibration program
  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications; writing and updating quality control procedures
  • Identify the needs for policies and procedures in accordance with API Q1/ISO 9001 guidelines and other Quality Management System standards
  • Assist in the maintenance of ISO/API Document Control System
  • Assist in the collation of monthly performance data generated from internal defects and customer complaints through QMS
  • Manage and coordinate external testing of materials and product as required
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations
  • Coordinate external testing of materials and product
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of QC Techs
  • Specify inspection equipment and prepare department budget
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 
  • 2 Years associate degree minimum (4 year degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in a Quality Control department in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques including warehousing, CNC, forming, welding, assembly, coating and logistics
  • Must be able to effectively work independently as well as part of a team, be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to interface with others in a professional manner.
  • Good working knowledge and appreciation of inspection techniques.
  • Must have mechanical ability, an eye for abnormalities, and aptitude for detail.
